Meet the owner - Susan HAWKINS
Introduction
Have you ever seen the TV show Roseanne (staring Roseanne Barr)? My professional life has looked a little like Jackie's from that show. I’ve spent years denying my true calling. In the process, I got a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion, then went back to school to be a Robotics and Electromechical Technician. I then taught Robot programming for 7 years before entering the Emergency services. Seems like a big jump and unrelated but in reality, it all led me here.
It was my first diploma that taught me the importance of Wellness, the mind-body-spirit connection, and it was Robotics that taught me the importance of working with nature and understanding frequencies and resonance.

After transitioning into the Emergency Services world, I faced physical and mental health challenges in myself, my coworkers, friends, and clients.
Over the years, I was drawn to different programs. I became certified as a fitness appraiser, personal trainer, Quantum-Touch practitioner, Reiki Level II practitioner, Yoga teacher and Trauma Sensitive Yoga teacher. I’m also certified in the Silva Ultramind method, Critical Incident Stress Management, Mental Health First Aid, Assisting Individuals in Crisis & Group Crisis Intervention and of course, I’m a certified Sound Healer from a CMA (The Complementary Medical Association) accredited program.
I first experienced the power of sound healing when my acupuncturist used tuning forks during my treatment. I felt a huge release which I believe was the grief of losing a loved one I had been carrying with me for several years. I full-on ugly cried for an hour but then felt so much better. My next experience was during a gong bath at a yoga studio. I felt old injuries get warm, then hot, then dissipate and as one injury cleared, another would surface and release.
As a practitioner, I have now witnessed incredible shifts in body and mind in those I have treated both with Sound healing and with Quantum-Touch. I’m excited to be able to do this as a career and I look forward to helping people reduce and release physical and emotional pain, ultimately finding joy.
On a more personal note, I live in Oshawa with 6 fur babies (2 dogs and 4 rabbits). Check out the gallery for some cute animal photos.
Just in case you thought I didn't know how to spell, Shawkra is just a play on my name, I do know it is spelled Chakra. 😊
